William W White

Mr. William Walter "Bill" White, age 87 of Lake Butler passed away peacefully Sunday April 28, 2013 at the E.T. York Haven Hospice in Gainesville after an extended illness. Mr. White was born in Owego, New York on April 24, 1926 to the late Walter and Frances White. He was a Navy World War II veteran, and earned his masters degree from William and Mary and also attended the University of Mississippi. Mr. White was a member of the Masonic Lodge #52 in Lake Butler; was a Shriner and part of the Scottish rite. Mr. White worked for the Union County School System and the Department of Corrections for many years; he also was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lake Butler. Mr. White is preceded in death by his loving wife Mrs. Frances Riherd White and his brother Bob "Robert" White. Mr. White is survived by his two sons: Gerald "Gerry" (Darlene) White of Cedar Key and Steven (Cindy) White of Denver; Grandchildren: Kelly and Katie White also survive. Memorial Services for Mr. White will be conducted on Thursday May 2, 2013 at 11 A.M. in the chapel of Archer Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Cranford officiating. Internment will follow in Dekle Cemetery in Lake Butler. In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests that donation be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 N.W. 90th Blvd., Gainesville, fl, 32605.
