Wilbur Regar

Mr. Wilbur Regar, age 72, of Lake Butler, FL passed away peacefully at his home under VITAS Hospice Care on December 4, 2020. He was born on January 11, 1948 to the late Charlie and Lucille Shepard Regar. Mr. Regar proudly served 2 terms with the US Army in the Vietnam War. After the military, he work as a long distance truck driver. After being injured he attended Jefferson State College in Birmingham, Alabama where he studied mortuary science for 2 years. When he moved back home Lake Butler, Florida he helped at Archer Funeral Home and other funeral homes in Lake City, Florida. He than started his business Wilbur’s Body Removal Service. Later he started Wilbur’s Trucking. Mr. Wilbur Pastored Victory Tabernacle and Lighthouse Ministries. As his health would not allow him to pastor he attended The First Full Gospel Church in Lake City, Florida and was the Adult Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed fishing, eating at Cedar River and spoiling his grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He will be remembered by his family for making the best turkey, dressing, and giblet gravy Thanksgiving being his favorite holiday because he would be surrounded by his family.

Mr. Regar is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald E. Regar. Mr. Regar is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mrs. Dorothy Clayton Regar; his son, Dwight Wilbur Regar (Theresa); his 2 daughters, Sonia Marie Edgley (James) and Loretta Dawn Thomas; his grandchildren, James Michael (Dorie), Lacey, Amber, Shelbie (Jacob), Brittany, Matthew, Megan, Chasity, and Summer; great-grandchildren, Alayna, Bennett, Waylon, Birdie, Mason, Brody, and Cohen; his brother, Charles E. Regar; and his sisters, Mildred L. Crews (Fred) and Sandra A. Crews.

A service to honor Mr. Regar will be held on Friday, December 11th at 11:00am at the Archer Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Butler, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, December 10th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the funeral home. Mr. Regar will be laid to rest following the funeral service at Douglas Cemetery in Lake Butler, FL.
