Mrs. Virginia Mae Rogers, 77, of Lake Butler passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 20, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Quincy, FL. She was born in LaCrosse, FL to the late Lee and Melzoner Fipps Douglas on July 15, 1945. She has spent her entire life in the Alachua/Brooker area. Mrs. Virginia was a faithful member of the Road to Calvary Church in Macclenny. She enjoyed western movies, fishing, and tending to her chickens. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Walter Douglas; and daughter, Fawn Walker.
Mrs. Virginia is survived by her children Johnny Lee (Cathy) Rogers of Lake Butler, Mary Ann (Roddy) Mickel of Quincy, and Lisa (Joe) Colomb of Crawfordville; her grandchildren Robert Rogers, Brandon Lee Rogers, Miranda Lynn Reeves, Rebecca Hood, Monica Ann Cadenaz; Richard Hicks, Austin Colomb, Savannah Colomb, Joseph (Katlyn) Walker, and Cheyenne Walker; 17 great-grandchildren; her sister Doris (Tommy) Anderson of Macclenny; and a host of extended family members.
A service to honor Mrs. Virginia will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, October 25th at Archer-Milton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation Monday evening from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Virginia will be laid to rest immediately following the service Tuesday at Dedan Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Pastor Tommy Anderson.
