Verna Mathews

Verna Florence Mathews, 92 of Lake Butler passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Shands of UF in Gainesville. Mrs. Mathews was born in Brewer, Maine on March 30, 1922 to the late Edward and Marie Rose Georgine DeGrace Pooler. She lived most of her life in Leesburg and came to Lake Butler in 2005. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lake Butler Ward. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Franklin Mathews.

She is survived by her sons: Bill Mathews, wife Johanna of Lake Butler, Vernon Edward Mathews, wife Regina of Roseville, Michigan and John Mathews, wife Pam of Leesburg; Two daughter: Merlene Sanders of Umatilla and Marilyn Mathews of Daytona, Florida

Graveside Services for Mrs. Mathews will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lakeside Memory Gardens, in Eustis, Florida. Archer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 386-496-2008
