Tommy Lee Atcheson, age 78, passed away on October 2, 2023, in Lake Butler, Florida. He was born on July 13, 1945, in Atlanta, Georgia. With a career spanning over four decades, Tommy made significant contributions to the world of entertainment. Tommy's remarkable journey began when he joined Shadow Box Production in Atlanta, Georgia. He dedicated forty years of his life to this esteemed company, where he served as a stage manager and worked behind the camera. Throughout his illustrious career, Tommy had the privilege of working with numerous distinguished personalities such as Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Burt Reynolds, and many others. His exceptional skills also took him to Tyler Perry Studios, where he contributed to the production of the iconic Madea movies.
One of the highlights of Tommy's career was being bestowed with the nickname "Chico" while working on Smokey and the Bandits films.
Before his successful career in the entertainment industry, Tommy demonstrated his commitment to serving his country by joining the United States Navy after high school. During his five years of military service, he courageously fought in the Vietnam War.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Betty Jane Atcheson; and his daughter, Stephanie Atcheson.
Tommy leaves behind cherished memories his loving children: Stacy Harrell (Shawn) and Randall Atcheson of Sanderson; eight grandchildren: Dana (Brian), Jessica, Amanda, Chris, Josh, Steven, Sean and Allen; thirteen great-grandchildren: Bianca, Brooklyn, Cheyanne, Trenton, Jase, Cameron, Johnny, Jordan, Boots, Monk, Kristen, Callie, Colton, and Colby; as well as a great-great grandson, Briar. Tommy is also survived by his siblings: Tammy (Frank) Rodriguez of Tampa, Myles (Brooklyn) Brooks of Las Vegas, June (Philip) Rigley, and Ann; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation services for Tommy Lee Atcheson will take place on October 8, 2023, at Archer-Milton Funeral Home located at 55 N Lake Ave, Lake Butler, FL 32054. The visitation will commence at 4:00 PM.
