Thelma Lee McQuaig

Ms. Thelma Knight McQuaig, age 73, of Brooker, Florida passed away on August 23, 2019 in Gainesville, FL. Ms. McQuaig was born on March 14, 1946, in Starke, FL, to the late James Durant and Geraldine McNeal Knight. She graduated from Bradford County High School and went on to work for the J.C. Penney Company for 28 years until her retirement. She was an avid Florida Gator fan and loved her football games. She also loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Starke Ward.

Ms. McQuaig is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, William McQuaig; her parents; and four brothers, John Henry Knight, Roy Edward Knight, David Junior Knight, and Andrew “Jack” Knight.

She is survived by her brothers, Richard Knight of Lake Butler, FL and James Vernon Knight of Jacksonville, FL; her sister, Alice Sanford of Orlando, FL; her niece, Donna Knight of Middleburg, FL; stepson, David McQuaig; two step-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Owen McQuaig; numerous extended family also survive.

A funeral service to honor Ms. McQuaig’s life will be held on Saturday, August 31, at 11:00 am, at the Archer Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for a visitation at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Her interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake Butler, FL. Services will be officiated by Bishop Steve Barber of the Starke Ward of LDS.
