Robert Charles Davies Jr

Starke, Fl; Mr. Robert Charles Davies, Jr. age 67, of Starke, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 12, 2013 at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville surrounded by his family after an extended illness. Mr. Davies was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on July 3, 1946 to the late Robert Charles, Sr. and Earla Lee Dennison Davies. Mr. Davies lived most of his life in Florida and was a distributor for Flowers Bakery for many years. Mr. Davies served proudly in the United Stated Air Force during the Vietnam War and he was a member of National Rifle Association and also the VFW; he was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Davies is survived by his loving wife of 22 years: Jo Ann K. Davies of Starke children: Alexander "Alex" Davies of Starke; Amy K. Davies-High (Eddie) of Chesapeake, VA; Cindy DeWitt Davis (Nate) of Gainesville; Kenneth "Kenny" DeWitt of Starke and Linda Kay DeWitt Brown (Stanley) of Starke; sisters: Carol Lee Moore (Daniel) of Craig, CO and JoAnn Murray of Orange Park; seven grandsons and one great-granddaughter also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Davies will be conducted on Tuesday September 17, 2013 at 10 A.M. in the chapel of Archer Funeral Home with Bro. Nathaniel Davis, Sr. officiating. Internment will follow in the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2 P.M. with full military honors. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
