Richard Irving "Dick" Cleveland, 73, of Lake Butler passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at home in Lake Butler following a brief illness. Mr. Cleveland was born on May 12, 1943 to the late Max Cleveland and Mrs. Laura Tryon Cleveland. He was married to Connie Klenk Cleveland for 27 years and has resided in Lake Butler for the past 17 years.
Mr. Cleveland served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1967 as a Jet Engine Mechanic. He then began working with Pratt Whitney as an airline mechanic and inspector for 30 years until his retirement in 2000. Mr. Cleveland was a NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed working on and restoring old engines. He was currently restoring a 1976 Ford Pickup truck as an antique at the time of his passing.
Mr. Cleveland was preceded in death by his father (Max Cleveland) and brother (Donald Cleveland).
Mr. Cleveland is survived by his wife (Connie Cleveland) of Lake Butler, mother (Laura Cleveland) of Lake Worth, step-daughters (Tonya Hicks and Prudence Pate) of Lake Butler, step-daughter (Michele Calvin) of Palm Beach County, step-sons (Kenneth Clyatt, Jr. and Curtis Clyatt) of Lake Butler, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
