Patricia "Patsy" Ann Sweat Tyler

Patricia "Patsy" Ann Sweat Tyler, 77, of Raiford, Fl passed away peacefully at Lake City Medical Center.

Patsy was born March 8, 1945, in Bradford County to Mack and Edna Sweat of Raiford, FL.

She attended Bradford County High School and was a basketball player and cheerleader. Patsy married and moved to Jacksonville, FL, and raised three children as a young woman. She worked part-time at Duval Ford Company and was a stay-at-home mother. Patsy divorced in 1982 and moved back to Raiford, FL with her children to be closer to her parents. Upon moving back home, Patsy trained and became a Correctional Officer. Her career spanned 25 years with the State of Florida. She worked in the mailroom at Union Correctional Institution and gained many friends and co-workers over the years. She was always known for her big smile and kindness to others.

After her retirement, she enjoyed the grandkids staying over and took care of her parents Edna and Mack Sweat as they began aging. Patsy enjoyed watching classic movies, piddling around the house, shopping in town and her dog, Zimmer. She was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother.

She is survived by her children: Thomas Shane Tyler (Cathy), Sterling Paige Tyler (Mark), and Brad MacArthur Tyler; her sister: Bobbie Faye McClellan; and her grandchildren: Justin Tyler, Talon Tyler, and Dawson Tyler

There will be a semi-private memorial and interment of ashes graveside at Sapp Cemetery in Raiford, FL, on Monday, August 22, at 10am. Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler, FL is handling arrangements.
