Nancy Carol Howard

Nancy Carol Howard, age 66, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, at UF Health Shands Gainesville. Born on February 4, 1958, in Brooksville, FL, Nancy's friendly and outgoing personality touched the lives of all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Nancy dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving home for her family. She found joy in gathering with loved ones, and her home was always filled with laughter, kindness, and the aroma of her favorite dishes. Whether hosting family gatherings or simply spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, she treasured every moment spent with them.

Nancy leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss her presence. She is survived by her husband, Steven Howard of Trenton, and her children: Tom (Brandy) Porter of Delphi, IN; Patsy (Andrew) Keys of High Springs; and Jessica Fletcher of Worthington Springs. Her legacy is carried on by her grandchildren, Conner, Gage, Autumn, Alana, Marissa, Hope, Dakota, Nathan, Thomas, Carolann, Samantha, Marsha, Travis, Darren, and Chyanne, along with 17 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

She is also survived by her son-in-law, Darrell (Liz) Floyd, daughter-in-law, Melissa Porter; her brother, Buddy Blackwelder of Worthington Springs; a dear cousin who was like a sister to her, Dee Smith of Micanopy; and special nephew, James Robert Taylor of Ocala.

Nancy joins her beloved parents, Samuel and Betty Jane Cummings Blackwelder, as well as her son, Charles Porter, her daughter, Shelly Floyd, her brother, Wesley "Willie" Blackwelder, and her sister, Marie Todd, in eternal rest. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
