Al Freida Sweat Parrish, 73, of Lake Butler passed away peacefully on November 25, 2016 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Parrish was born on June 22, 1943 to the late Alfred Albert (A.A.) Sweat and Beady Nettles Sweat. Mrs. Parrish graduated Union County High School in June 1961. Two short months later she married the love of her life, Walter Earl Parrish, on August 22, 1961. Mrs. Parrish worked at G.E., and was a secretary/bookkeeper for Owens-Illinois, Lake Butler Farm Center, and Union County Farm Bureau before her retirement. Mrs. Parrish was a member of the First Christian Church of Lake Butler and past founding member of the Union County Riding Club. She always had an open kitchen and listening ear for all her friends and family. Most of all she will be remembered as a devoted Christian wife, mama, and Nena. Her faith in the Lord and strong spirit will always be treasured.
Mrs. Parrish was preceded in death by her parents: A.A. and Beady Sweat; and her husband of 44 years: Walter E. Parrish; in-laws: Robbie and Mae Parrish; brothers-in-law; Roland Parrish, Bobby Parrish and Fred Cunningham. Mrs. Parrish is survived by her daughter: Renae Parrish Prevatt; her son-in-law: Emory (B.B.) Prevatt; grandson: Garhett Walter (Rhett) Prevatt, sister: Aliene Sweat, sisters-in-law: Jackie Cunningham, Regina Parrish and Rosie Parrish; many nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.
Services for Mrs. Parrish will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Lake Butler. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Archer Funeral Home in Lake Butler, Florida. Burial at Elzey Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Archer Funeral Home.
