Mr Donald Ernest Sams

Donald Ernest Sams 75, of Lake Butler passed away on December 29, 2015 at the V.A. Hospital in Lake City after a brief illness with his family at his side. He was born in Richmond, Kentucky where he lived most of his life until moving to Lake Butler 30 years ago and was the son of the late Saville E. Sams and Eudell Mays Sams. He was preceded in death by his daughter Susan Carol Sams. Donald was in the US Navy for 6 years and worked for UCI in the maintenance department for 30 years. He was a member of the VFW and was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by: His Loving wife of 57 years Margaret Barker Sams
3 Daughters: Robin Johnson, Lisa Sams & Sheila Sams
2 Sons: Barry (Cathy) Sams & Greg Sams
6 Grandchildren: Nikki, Stacy, Tracy, Krystal, Justin & Shyanne
6 Great Grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 12:00pm at the Archer Memorial Chapel in Lake Butler with Bro. Art Peterson officiating. A visitation will be held 11:00am right before the services. Burial will follow in Sapp Cemetery in Raiford. Arrangements are under the care of Archer Funeral Home in Lake Butler. 386-496-2008
