Matthew Kevin Thornton

Matthew Kevin Thornton, age 45, of Lake Butler, FL, passed away on February 12, 2019, outside of New Orleans, LA. Matt was born on Dec 14, 1973, to the late Marion Thornton and the late Harriet Waldren. He was born and raised in Union County. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. Matt worked as a heavy equipment and diesel mechanic. Matt loved life and will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Melissa Beth Ehrishman.

Matt is survived by his daughter, Natalee Thornton; brothers, Nathan (Tonya) Thornton of Lake Butler, FL, Christopher Thornton of Lake Butler, FL, Kirk Thornton of Starke, FL, and Robert Black of Hawthorne, FL; sister, Deanna Thornton of Keystone Heights, FL; nieces and nephews, Thomas Andrews, Harley Thornton, Corey Thornton, Kevin Thornton, and Ciara Taylor Thornton; great-niece, Raelyn Mitchell; numerous extended family members also survive.

A graveside service to honor Matt will be held on Saturday, February 16, at 2:00pm at Sante Fe Cemetery in Hampton, Florida. Arrangements are under the care and direction of ARCHER FUNERAL HOME in Lake Butler, FL. 386-496-2008
