Ms. Mary Francis Howell, age 82, went home to be with the Lord at Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City on May 28, 2021. She was born October 20, 1938 in Snyder, Texas to the late Barney and Oleada Chandler Prince, Jr. Mary was a district manager for Mary Kay Cosmetics for 25 years. She was a housewife who loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed baseball and bowling with her bowling team. Mary loved the Lord and was an active member of the First Baptist of Alachua. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Robert Vernon, Jimmy Lyn, PeeWee and Dub Prince; and her sisters, Bonnie Phipps and Welma Huchabee. Mary is welcomed into heaven by her immediate family and her husband of 59 years, Lewis Howell, along with various grandparents, uncles, aunts and her great-grandson, Kadin Phillips.
Mary leaves behind her sister’s, Thelma Gardner, Linda Kubena of Snyder, TX, Janelda Scharlz of Weatherford, Gaenell Underwood of Tyler and Donna Isabell of Richmond, as well as her brother-in-law, James Isabell. Mary preceeds her immediate family, her son David Howell and daughter-in-law Karen Howell; her granddaughter, Michelle Howell-Phillips and husband Randal Phillips; her grandson Jason Howell; her great-grandchildren, Alexander Howell, Cameron Howell, and Laura Jean Phillips; as well as various nieces, nephews, church friends and her beloved cat Tiggers.
A graveside service for Ms. Mary will be held on at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Midway Cemetery in Lake Butler, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00am at the cemetery. Service will be officiated by Pastor Jason Johns.
