Mary Lou Bennett Davis, age 76, of Glen St. Mary passed away peacefully with her family by her side at St. Vincent’s Medical Center on June 16, 2022. Born to the late Clarence and Geneva Johns Bennett, Lou has been a lifelong resident of Baker County. In 1962, she married Mallory Davis and they enjoyed 56 years together until his passing. Lou worked for 14 years as a bus driver for the Baker County School District. She enjoyed her plants, gardening, cooking and loving on her grandchildren. Lou also enjoyed listening to music and singing and wouldn’t turn down an opportunity to dance. Lou had a big heart and cared deeply for her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mallory Davis; son, Buddy Davis; and her siblings, Gene Bennett, Helen Taylor, and Clarence Bennett, Jr.
Lou is survived by her children, Louann (Randy) Crews, Ginger Gail “Chita” (Aaron) Crews, and Clay Davis; her grandchildren, Hannah (Rick) Diggs, Kasey Crews, Matt (Katie) Crews, Becki (Trez) Smith, Kiara Crews, Brittany Johnson, Patricia (Scott) Brokaw, Clayton (Taylor) Davis, Jinny Davis, and Jamie Davis; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A service to honor Lou will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Raiford Road Church, Macclenny, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 11:00am. Lou will be laid to rest immediately following the service next to her husband and son at South Prong Cemetery.
