Marie Lourdes Marlene Dure, a devoted health care professional by her husband Dr. Dure' and beloved matriarch, passed away on February 27, 2025, in Lake Butler, FL. Born on April 9, 1938, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti raised in cap Haitian, Marlene dedicated much of her life to caring for others, exemplifying compassion and resilience throughout her life.
For most of her life, Marlene lived and worked in Haiti, where she made a profound impact on the lives of many through her unwavering commitment to healthcare. Four years ago, she relocated to the United States, where she continued to be a source of strength and love for her family.
Marlene is survived by her cherished children: Dr. Maurice Dure and his wife Nora of Lake Butler, Marlon Dure of Haiti, and Dr. Marjorie Dure of Canada. Her legacy is further carried on by many grandchildren who will remember her kindness and wisdom.
She is also survived by her siblings: Jocelyne Jadotte, Kettly Schomberg, Murielle Dugue, Karlyn Schomberg, Chantal Schomberg, Manushka Schomberg St Fort, Rene Schomberg, Leo Schomberg, Kasandre Schomberg Nestor, Charles Bouchereau, Ghislaine Bouchereau, Patrick Noel, Pierre Menard, and Uranie Menard. Also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Marlene was predeceased by her father Joseph Leo Schomberg, mother Andree Dorce, step mother Marcelle Conte (Manmi Bouboute). Her sister Claudette Martin, Guilene Schomberg, Nadia Jean Schomberg and Rodolphe Schomberg.
Marie Lourdes Marlene Dure will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her unwavering spirit. Her life touched many, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
