Margaret Yvonne Butler

Margaret Yvonne (Green) Butler, age 93, of Lecanto, FL, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2023. She was born on June 20, 1930, in Jacksonville, FL, to Jacob Frederic Green and Jennie Braddock.

Margaret was raised in Garden City, FL She began her business career as a millwork estimator in the early 1950’s in Jacksonville, FL. Later, she relocated to Nashville and attended Draughon’s Business School. She enjoyed a long career in Nashville, eventually, becoming a key part of Joe M. Rodgers Company and JMR Investments. During her career she encouraged and trained many aspiring young men and women in the Nashville business community. Margaret was a member of Tusculum Hills Baptist Church and for many years assisted with the annual Nashville Business Prayer Breakfast. Margaret relocated to her home state of Florida eight years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Tami Renee McCollum; and her brothers, Dr. Harold Green and Ronald A. Green.

Margaret is survived by her children, Chester A. (Barbara G.) Butler, III of Carrabelle, FL, and Kristina Lynne (Butch) Wike of Dunnellon, FL; her grandchildren, Frederic Braddock Butler of Tallahassee, FL, Jacob Ryan Christian McCollum of Nashville, TN, Morgan Mae Butler and Jacob William Butler both of Mt. Juliet, TN. Numerous extended family also survive.

A funeral to honor Margaret’s life will be held on Friday, June 30, at 11:00 am at Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in the New River Baptist Church Cemetery.
