LeRoy Robert Halbert, Sr., age 79 passed away peacefully at his home in Butler, FL on June 24, 2024. He was born on November24, 1944, in Metuchen, NJ to the late LeRoy and Elizabeth Halbert. LeRoy dedicated 30 years to the Shell Oil Company as a lead operator and proudly served in the United States Navy for 25 years. LeRoy was known for being an outgoing and sociable individual, a true people person who cherished every opportunity to socialize with others. Outside of his professional career and military service, he found joy in shopping, especially at flea markets and yard sales. He was also a faithful member of Trinity Metropolitan Community Church in Gainesville.
LeRoy is survived by his children: LeRoy Robert Halbert, Jr., Louis James (Felicia) Halbert, and Dawn Marie Bruen (Douglas Eash) and his grandchildren: Carter Halbert, Lexi Welsh, Ava Welsh, Ari Welsh, Gavin Halbert, Ashlyn Halbert, Eric Justin Bruen, Kyle Austin Bruen, and Chelsey Autumn Eash. LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents LeRoy and Elizabeth Halbert; his beloved wife of 52 years, Frances Halbert; and his sister Kathleen Halbert.
