Katherine Barbara Jean Thornton

Mrs. Katherine Barbara Jean Thornton, age 68, passed away on November 17, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Riverside in Jacksonville, FL. She was born on December 18, 1951 in Middleburg, FL to the late Everette and Elsie Carter Manning. Katherine enjoyed making cakes, crocheting, and sewing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Katherine loved the Lord and her church. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years, William Thornton; her brothers, Harold and Bobby Manning; her sister, Juanita Burch; her grandson, Blake and great-grandchild Christian.

Katherine is survived by her son, Travis Nelson (Michelle) of Starke, FL; her daughters, Barbara Smith (Donald) of Hampton, FL and Serena Goodin of Gray, GA; her sisters, Ruby Burger and Mildred Bell; her grandchildren, Lana, Holden, Savanna, Taylor, Mason, Brandon, and Levi; her 8 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family also survive.

A service to honor Katherine will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 11:00am at the Archer Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be at Crosby Lake Cemetery, Starke, FL. Her services will be officiated by Bro. Randall Griffis, Sr., Pastor of Victory Revival Center.
