Mrs. Joyce Norman Hill, age 92, of Glen St. Mary, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening August 25, 2013 at the MacClenny Nursing and Rehab Center surrounded by her family after an extended illness. Mrs. Hill was born in Manning on October 10, 1920 to the Late Sam and Everett Griffis Norman. Mrs. Hill lived most of her life in Baker County and was a homemaker; she also was a member of the New River Congregational Methodist Church. She loved to cook for her family and her friends; to know her was to love her. She was a very special lady, always concerned about her friends and neighbors. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her loving husband: Gordon Matthew Hill; four brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Hill is survived by her son: Mark Hill (Sarah) of Lake Butler; grandchildren: Staci Kelly of Jacksonville, Natalie Hunter (Israel) of Providence, Joshua Smith (Rachel) Providence, Ben Smith (Michelle) of Pennsylvania; brother: Hisley Norman (Louise) of Hampton Lake and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Hill will be conducted on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at 11 A.M. in the New River New Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Norman officiating and assisted by Rev. Jimmy Scott. Internment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
