Lake Butler

Joshua Aaron Heintzelman, age 33, of Lake Butler, passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2024, in Lake City. Josh was born on May 4, 1991, in Tampa, FL, to James “Jimmy” Heintzelman and Jeanie Henderson. Josh moved around with his family, living in Tampa, Ocala, Williston, and finally Lake Butler. He was a loving guy with a great sense of humor. If you were around Josh, you couldn’t help but laugh and his jokes and mannerisms. Since an early age, he always helped his dad at the shop with changing tires, mechanic work, and driving a tow truck. Those work skills landed him a job with A1 towing where he worked for 10 years before coming back to help his dad.

Josh loved fishing, especially at Cedar Key. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling to the mountains. This past September, he just completed the “Tail of the Dragon” on a motorcycle with his dad. It’s a road in the Great Smokey Mountains that has 318 curves in an 11-mile stretch. Spending time with his family was everything to him. Josh and his family were fortunate enough to attend a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game this year, his favorite NFL team. Although his life was cut short, the memories of Josh will live on in the lives of those he touched.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanie.

Josh is survived by his dad, Jimmy (Brittany) Heintzelman of Lake Butler; his children, Jaden and Lucas Heintzelman; his siblings, James “Junior” Heintzelman of Lake City, Rhonda Watwood of Lake Butler, and Jacob Tatum and Cheyenne Weaver both of NC; his Pops, Henry Heintzelman of Citra; his grandmothers, Rhonda Heintzelman of Citra and Gail Ringette of Ocala; and his brother-in-law, Ricky Jackson of Indiana; numerous extended family also survive.

A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Archer-Milton Funeral Home. Josh will be laid to rest privately at the family cemetery in Lake Butler. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archer-Milton Funeral Home, Lake Butler. 386-496-2008. www.ArcherFuneralHome.com
