John Benjamin Johnson

John B. Johnson 70, of Jacksonville passed away peacefully Sunday, June 14, 2015 at his home in Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father John B. Johnson Sr. and his mother Helen Nunley Johnson of Childress, Texas. Survivors include his loving wife and soulmate of 44 years Janet Crawford Johnson and his brother James W. Johnson (Betty) of Pelzer, South Carolina. John was raised in Childress, Texas. He attended Baylor University and Texas Tech. He and Janet met and lived in Atlanta, Ga for several years. John was in the construction business in Atlanta mainly building homes. They moved from Atlanta, Ga to Flagler Beach Fl and then Jacksonville where they have resided for the past 20 years. John was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast. He and Janet traveled to some exotic destinations and also enjoyed sailing, snow skiing and backpacking together. He was also fortunate to have a lifelong friend Ron Day who shared with him many pleasurable pursuits. John will be missed by a loving family including in laws and many nieces and nephews.
Family invites friends for a visitation at 10:00am in the Archer Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Funeral Services for John will follow at 11:00am in the Archer Memorial Chapel. There will be a private burial with family only. The arrangements are under the care of Archer Funeral Home, Lake Butler. 386-496-2008
