John Frank Dempsey, 94, of Jacksonville passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Elmcroft Assisted Living in Jacksonville. He was born on November 11, 1920, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to the late Frank Demanovich and Mary Barno. Mr. Dempsey was a World War II veteran and served in the U.S. Navy for four and a half years before retiring. He then went to work for Hughs Supply as a credit manager.
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Noretia Graham Dempsey; three sons, David, Michael (Sandy), and Stephen (Angie) Dempsey, all of Jacksonville; four grandchildren: Christina, Daniel, Dana, and Maxwell, and one great-grandchild, Alexander.
Funeral Services for Mr. Dempsey will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11:00 am at Philippi Baptist Church in Lake City with James Horton officiating. Burial will take place following the funeral service at Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery. Family invites friends for a visitation on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Archer Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm.
