Mr. James M. Lee, age 78, of Lake Butler, Florida, peacefully passed away on April 3, 2019 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. James was born in Panama City, Florida, on March 21, 1941. His family moved to Oxford, Florida, where he graduated from Wildwood High School in 1959. After high school he went to work for CSX Coastline where he retired after 47 years of service. James met the love of his life on April 24, 1960, and on June 18, 1960, they were married in the Worthington Springs Methodist Church in Worthington Springs, Florida. He loved fishing and enjoyed going down to his pond every afternoon. His fish knew when he was coming to feed them. He loved and enjoyed spending time with each and every one of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. James attended Lake Butler Church of God where he served as the church clerk. He had the opportunity to go on two mission trips to Guatemala.
Mr. Lee is survived by his loving wife, Wanell; children, Eddie (Becky), Joey (Christian), Gary and Lynell; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Merdie Brown, Johnnie Smith, Becky Twist and Norma Johnson.
A service to honor Mr. Lee will be held on Saturday, April 6, at 4:00pm at the Lake Butler Church of God. Arrangements are entrusted to ARCHER FUNERAL HOME in Lake Butler, FL. 386-496-2008
