Mr. Jack Hampton Cairel, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 8, 2021. He was born January 3, 1935 in Logan, Illinois to the late Frank and Ethel Hurtte Cairel. Jack proudly served our country in the US Navy for 20 years. He also worked for the Department of Corrections for 20 years until his retirement. He was an outdoorsman; enjoying fishing and hunting as well as planting a big garden. Jack was also a fan of Las Vegas and Biloxi or any casino. More than anything, being around his family and friends made him the happiest. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Melba Burchi; and son, Mitchell Holsenbeck.

Jack is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janice Cairel of Starke; his daughters, Marsha Sutorus (Joe) of Middleburg, FL, Sherry Kirendoll (Norman) of Jacksonville, FL, Beth Price of High Springs, FL, Kathleen Graham of Land O’Lakes,FL, and Susan Sylvester (Rocky) of Highand Village, TX; his sons, Michael Cairel (Syndi) of Jackson, TN and Mark Anzalone (Melissa) of Rowling, NC; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor Jack will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at his church, Madison Street Baptist Church in Starke, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00am. He will be laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Pastor Richard Cason.
