Lake Butler, FL - Irma Frieda Steiner Clyatt, 77, of Lake Butler, FL, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL.
A celebration of her life will be conducted on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 2:00pm, Harmony Free Will Baptist Church, 6129 SW County Road 239, Lake Butler, FL. The service will be officiated by her brother-in-law, Reverend Larry Clyatt and Reverend Percy Cunningham. Visitation will take place prior to the service at 1:00pm.
Mrs. Clyatt was born on November 23, 1938 to Oskar and Frieda Steiner in Munich, Germany. She moved to the United States with her children in 1968 and began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She retired from The Veterans Administration Hospital in 2000.
Mrs. Clyatt married Kenneth Melaine "Red" Clyatt on March 5, 1979. The two blended their families of six children together and enjoyed 36 years of marriage. Over the years, they were blessed with 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She loved every minute she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Clyatt was a part of Harmony Free Will Baptist church and was a member for 36 years. She served the church faithfully being an active member of Women Active for Christ. She enjoyed vacationing in the mountains, camping, traveling, reading, fishing, swimming, scalloping, and Gator football games. She was also an avid lover of cats and dogs, always having several at one time.
Mrs. Clyatt is survived by her husband, Kenneth Melaine "Red" Clyatt (Lake Butler); sister, Paula Jorg (Munich, Germany); son, BobbieWilliam Harden; daughter, Peggy Jo Broome (Carly); step-daughters, Tonya Clyatt Hicks (Don), Prudence Clyatt Pate (Kirk); step-sons, Kenneth Melaine Clyatt, Jr. (Robin) and Curtis Leo Clyatt (Vanecia) all of Lake Butler, FL; grandchilren, Kasey Grace Kelley (Richard), St. Maurice Brown, III "Acea" (Christine), Hayden Dean Steiner Brown (Claudia), Amanda Lyn Harden, Joshua Louis Adkins, Cody William Harden, Ashley Biddix Goodwin (Chad), Amy Brook Hicks, Kenneth Melaine Clyatt, III (Robin), Dillan Cole Clyatt, Lorrie Ann Pate Sweetapple (Eric), Danielle Nichole Pate, and Taylor Melayne Pate, and Paden Trent Clyatt; great-grandchildren, Madison Olivia Brown, Dayven James Sellers, Addyson Terrell Kelley, Carter Saint Brown, Beckett Ace Brown, Ryder Michael Brown, Landon Harold Biddix, Tucker Cole Clyatt, and Kamryn Gabrielle Harden.
Mrs. Clyatt was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements are through Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler, FL 386-496-2008.
