Jessie Imogene Nettles Smith age 82 of Providence, Florida passed early Tuesday morning February 11, 2014 in her home. She was a life long resident of Union County, Florida. She was married to J. Felton Smith for 56 years before he proceeded in death in 2004. Imogene was the late surviving child of 13 children born to John Jackson and Lonice Nettles of Union County, Florida. She is survived by her four children Carol (Marion) Swensen of Twin Falls, Idaho; Janet (Bob) Driggers of Madison, Alabama; Delbert (Katie) Smith of Providence, Florida and Olivia (David, deceased) Moseley of Providence, Florida.
Imogene and Felton have 15 grandchildren; Brent, Phillip, Craig, Casey and JoAnna Swensen; Becky, Alicia, Erin and Rob Driggers; Joshua, Benjamin and Natalie Smith; Jacquie, Jessica and Paige Moseley. They also have 43 great grandchildren.
Imogene and Felton were married March 26, 1948 and were lifelong residents of Union County. They worked together in their business, Felton Smith liquid Fertilizer, and farming operation, for over forty years.
Other than her family Imogene's lifelong passion and commitment was her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and researching the family genealogies of families.
The visitation with family will be Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6-8:30 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - day Saints, one mile west of Lake Butler, on highway 238. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the same location. Internment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. Archer Funeral Home, Inc, 386-496-2008.
