Howard “Hoss” Franklin Taylor, age 61, passed away on February 25, 2024, at UF Health Shands in Gainesville, FL. Born in Blackshear, GA on August 21, 1962, the memory of Hoss will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a skilled construction worker who took pride in all he did. He was preceded in death by his father Howard Franklin Taylor, Sr., mother Virginia Durrance Taylor, wife Catherine Taylor; brothers Larry Durrance and Cecil J. Taylor, sister Jenny L. Taylor, sister-in-law Ann Dickson, grandmother Hattie Allen, grandfather Jesse Durrance; niece Sandy Laricy, and nephew Dominic King.
Hoss is survived by his son, John Hendry; sisters Janette Taylor King and Mildred (Jerry) Thompson and brother Bruce Edward Dickson. His presence will be deeply missed by his nieces Natasha King and Alysia King; his great nieces Alyssa (Isaac) Simpson, Whitney King, Mackenzie King, and great-great-nephew Daniel Simpson.
A visitation to honor Hoss’s life has been arranged for February 28th at Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler, FL from 5pm to 7pm. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Howard to join them in paying their respects and celebrating the profound impact he had on their lives.
