Diane Batten

April 24, 1959 — February 16, 2025

Lake Butler

Helen Diane Batten, affectionately known as Diane, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, in Macclenny, Florida, with her devoted husband, Kenny Batten, by her side. Born on April 24, 1959, in Montgomery, Alabama, Diane lived a life characterized by love, nurturing, and unyielding kindness.

Throughout her remarkable life, Diane dedicated herself to the care of others. As a daycare provider, she profoundly impacted the lives of countless children and their families. Her passion for taking care of others extended beyond her professional life—she was known for her generous nature and innate ability to provide comfort and support to anyone in need. Diane was a woman of faith, a true matriarch who embraced her family with endless love. The bonds she created were deep and unbreakable; she was the rock and glue that held her family together.

Diane's warmth and vibrant personality made her someone never to be forgotten. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with everyone she met, truly having no enemies. To know her was to love her, and she cherished her family wholeheartedly. The thrill of life was evident in her joyful spirit as she delighted in dancing and embracing every moment to the fullest.

Her legacy lives on through her beloved husband, Kenny, and their children: Jeff (Jackie) Cannon, who resides in New York; Flint (Amber) of Alabama; Stephanie (Jesus) Rivera, of Lake Butler; Kellie (Dave) Poncher, of Melrose; and Brooke (Jimmy) Ginn, also of Alabama. Diane was also a proud grandmother to Hannah, Hailey, Jack, AJ, Wesley, Lexi, Wyatt, Jonah, Bailey, Anderson, Parker, and Harlyn. Diane was also a great-grandmother to Hayes and Breelyn. Her love extended to her siblings, Steve (Debbie) Young and Debra Acreman, as well as her cherished nieces and nephew: Crystal, Bridget, Dana, and Danny. Her motherly love also extended to the Schmidt kids: Nick, Angela, Josh, and Elizabeth.

Though Diane is preceded in death by her father, William Young; her mother, Helen Young; and her brother, Randy Young, the memories of her love and laughter will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Sunday, March 2nd at 3:00 PM, at Culture House Church in Lake Butler, Florida. Jimmy Rice has the honors of officiating the service. The community is invited to come together and remember the extraordinary life of a woman who truly embodied love, compassion, and generosity. As we celebrate Diane, we reflect on a life that was a testament to the beauty of giving, the strength of family, and the blessings of shared memories.
