Gloria Padgett Jones

Mrs. Gloria Padgett Jones, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at St. Vincent’s Hospital on January 18, 2023. Born August 1, 1936, in Sparr, FL, to the late Lorenzo and Mary Padgett, she spent the last 60 plus years as a resident of Jacksonville. Gloria worked various jobs, but her priority was raising her 4 boys. Gloria loved to fish. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers. If she had to be indoors, it was just to do a little shopping on QVC. Above all, Gloria loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Mary Padgett, and her husband of 55 years, Lewis Jones.

Gloria is survived by her sons Michael (Ginnie) Jones of Starke, Ron Jones of Greenbow, AL, Steve (Casey) Jones, and Craig (Mandy) Jones both of Glen St. Mary; her grandchildren Melissa (Matt) Jackson, Ryan (Bianca) Jackson, Bryan (Aislinn) Jones, Matt (Tasha) Jones, Ashley Jones, Autumn (Daniel) Sellers, Dawson Jones, Madison Jones, Kelsey Jones, Sydny Jones, Craig, Jr. (Skyler) Jones, Tucker Kinghorn, Toby Kinghorn, Taz Kinghorn, and Cami Jones; great-grandchildren Acelin, Stella, Jackson, Ava, Peyton, Natalie, Willow, and Houston; her sisters Betty (Rod) Lawson and Rozelle (Jake) Gaither; and numerous extended family and friends.

A service to honor Gloria will be held at 7:00pm on Sunday, January 22^nd at Archer-Milton Funeral Home, Lake Butler. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 6:00pm. Gloria will be laid to rest next to her husband at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Monday, January 23, 2023.
