Glenn Cox

Mr. Glenn Cox 94, of Lake Butler passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City with family by his side. He was born on March 20, 1921 in Cass County near Virginia, Illinois to the late James William Arthur Cox and Marie Thomas Cox. Mr. Cox moved to Lake Butler in 1964 with his wife Avis Dukes Cox and has been a resident ever since. He retired from the United States Air Force and United States Navy with a total of 20 plus years. He was a member of Grace Fellowship Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Avis Dukes.
Mr. Cox is survived by his Step daughter Freda King of Lake Butler; Sons: Ronald Cox of Jacksonville, Illinois, Step sons: Jerrell Ellis of Lake Butler and Jerry Ellis of Greenville, Mississippi; Brother: Allen Cox of Peoria, Illinois; Sister: Delores Jean Theede of Pekin, Illinois; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Cox will be held Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00am at Archer Memorial Chapel with Pastor Terry Elixson officiating. Burial will take place funeral services at Elzey Chapel Cemetery. Family invites friends for a visitation Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 6 to 8pm at Archer Funeral Home.
