The sovereign power of God controls the rein of life and his love is constantly manifested in the entire universe, especially among his people. The Power of his love constrains our hearts to recognize his sovereign will and causes our minds to reflect back to the time of God’s blessing our lives with a humble, pride and ecstatic personality.
Mother Gladys Sirmones was born on June 3, 1928 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jones, SR. of Brunswick, GA.
Mother Sirmones submitted her life to Christ at an early age under the great leadership of Pastor Jacob D. James until his death and she continued her membership faithfully, financially and spiritually under Pastor Abraham Perry, Sr., continuously serving as “Mother” of the Body of Christ Assemble COGIC until her health failed her.
Mother Sirmones received her education from the St. Pius Catholic School and resided in Lake Butler, FL for the past sixty (60) years where she was loved and respected by many.
Mother Sirmones was united in marriage to the late James Sirmones on August 2, 1943 in Starke, FL and to this union fifteen (15) children was born, eight (8) sons and seven (7) girls.
Mother Sirmones leaves upon her departure from earth to glory, one (1) brother, Thomas Jones, Jr and twelve (12) living children and three (3) deceased children:
Lynn Sermons, Dennis Sirmones and Amanda Sirmones( deceased); John Sirmones, James Sirmones(Yolanda), and Hattie Tennell(Clark), all of Jacksonville, FL; Fred Sirmones(Sharon), Dozie Sirmones(Penny), Doris Thomas, Shirley Lacy and Theresa Sykes, all of lake Butler, FL; Roxanne Sermones, Atlanta, GA; Mae Emma Cash, Mayo, FL; Curtis Sirmones, Huntsville, AL and Stephen Sirmones(Regina), Minneola, FL; 88 grands, 154 great grands, 67 great great grands and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Sirmones will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at the Union County High School Auditorium at 2:00pm for immediate family only. The services will be live streamed on Facebook through Archer Funeral Home’s Facebook page for those who would like to attend virtually. The family will receive visitors from 12:00pm-1:00pm at the auditorium. The service will be officiated by Elder Abraham L.
