George Guy Starling, Jr.

Mr. George “Buddy Pencil” Starling, age 78, of Lawtey, FL passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs. He was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late George Guy Starling, Sr. and Nancy Pearl Prescott. He retired from Local #13 of Jacksonville after 30 years.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nettie Herrin; his brother-in-laws, Jack Herrin and Cecil Polk; his brother, George Soder; his niece, Grindol Walden and Greg Norsworthy.

George is survived by his wife of 26 years, Margie Starling; his children, Robert (Hilda), William (Carrie), Lori (Greg), Kayla, Jonathan, Nathan (Jessica) and Brian; Sister Sylvia Polk; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Mattie Woods.

A memorial service to honor Mr. Starling will be held at 11:00am on September 12, 2020 at the Archer Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00am. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archer Funeral Home. 386-496-2008 www.archerfuneralhome.com
