Frank "Bill" Cooper Sr. 74, of Macclenny passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 with his family by his side at Acosta Rua Center for Caring in Jacksonville. Mr. Cooper was born on March 15, 1941 in Lakeland, Florida to the late Charles Cooper and Evelyn Fulghum Cooper. He graduated from University of Florida as an accounting major. After graduating he went to work as an accountant with North East Florida State Hospital for 14 years and also retired from Florida Department of Corrections Service Center as an accountant. Mr. Bill was an active member of the North Florida Gator Club as a treasurer, First United Methodist Church in Macclenny, Shriners of Jacksonville, and Masonic Lodge in Sanderson.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Barbara Shadd Cooper; Daughters: Kari Cooper Mainelli (Tom) of St. Petersburg; Son: Frank Cooper Jr. (Jennifer) of Jacksonville; Grandchildren: Melissa and Matthew Mainelli, Ruthann and Will Cooper; Brother: Charles Cooper Jr. of Kingsland, Georgia; Sister: Barbara Heddon of Haines City, Florida; Nephews: Alan Shadd, Russel (Margie) Shadd, Scott (Angie) Clack, Trey and Shawn Cooper.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Cooper will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church in Macclenny with Michael Norman officiating. Family invites friends for a visitation an hour prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 93 North 5th Street, Macclenny, Florida 32063. The arrangements are under the care of Archer Funeral Home, Lake Butler. 386-496-2008
