Fabian Clanton Scaff Sr., 78, of Lake Butler passed away suddenly at his home after an apparent heart attack. Fabian was the son of the late John W. Scaff and Elizabeth Sandel Scaff. He was preceded in death by his son, Clanton Scaff. He worked with Sperry Rand Corporation in Gainesville, Fl. for 18 years before working at the Department of Corrections, where he retired after 25 years. He was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and was the treasurer of the church for 17 years. He enjoyed gardening, farming, going to Blue Grass music festivals, going to church, sports, and he was a Gator fan. He was also one of the directors of the Elzey Chapel Cemetery
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marie Edenfield Scaff. His daughter Rhonda Scaff (Randy) Willingham of Lake Butler. His sister Betty J. Coleman of Jacksonville, Fl. His nephew Wayne Coleman, His three grandchildren; Zeke (Sunshine) Cailyn Scaff and Sierra Rimes.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Paul O'Steen officiating. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 15,2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Archer Funeral Home in Lake Butler, Fl. 386-496-2008. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that donations be made to Sardis Baptist Church Building Fund.
