Eula Mae Fortune, 69, of Lake Butler, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on April 28, 2023. Eula was born June 13, 1953, to James and Cora May Bruce Ryder and has been a resident of Union County her entire life. Eula spent her whole life caring for others. She worked as a home health care aid and CNA. Her favorite pastimes included going fishing on the riverbank, getting her nails done, going to yard sales, and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, William Johnson; and her siblings, William Ryder, Johnny Ryder, Charles Ryder, Carolyn Williams, James Ed Ryder, Robert “Rob” Lee Ryder, and Mary Thornton.
Eula is survived by her husband of 17 years, Leroy Jenkins; sons, Jerry “Slugger” Johnson and Charles Fortune; her daughter, April Johnson; grandchildren, Bobbie Jean Tatum, Brianna Tatum, Anthony Woods, Adrien Woods, Lacey Johnson, Eva Jenkins, Megan Johnson, William Johnson, and Alex Johnson; 11 great-grandchildren; her brother, Thomas Ryder; sisters, Shirley Roberson and Brenda Sloane; and a host of extended family.
A service to honor Eula’s life will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, May 1st at Archer-Milton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 2:00pm. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archer-Milton Funeral Home. 386-496-2008 www.archerfuneralhome.com
