Edward Eugene Holder

Mr. Edward Eugene Holder, age 63, of Lake Butler, FL passed away peacefully at Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City on January 26, 2021. Eddie was born August 8, 1957 in Alachua, FL to the late Denton and Donna Mae Muth Holder. He spent his childhood in Bradford County, but called Lake Butler his home for the last 20 years. Eddie was a dedicated employee for Archer Funeral Home for the last 16 years. He took pride in ensuring the grounds were kept up and the building stayed in working order. Eddie loved going fishing and enjoyed it more when he could take his grandkids with him. He also loved cheering on the Florida Gators. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; his step-parents, Hurbert and Ethie Cooper and bother, Alson Masters.

Eddie is survived by his sons, John (Jennifer) Holder of Starke, Joseph and Donald Holder of Lake Butler; his grandchildren, Tristen, Keagan and Ambrielle Holder all of Starke; his wife, Dawn Holder of Lake Butler; his siblings, Randy (Cindy) Hillard of North Carolina, Nancy Sue (Dennis) Smith of Horseshoe, Jeannie (Tom) Mathis of Trenton, Clyde Holder of Alachua, Linda (Willie) Dixon of Lake City, Brenda (James) Matthews of Lake City, Lester Wayne (Debbie) Ruis of Starke and Arthur (Annette) Masters of Starke; and a work family that loved him like their own.

A service to honor Eddie will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 1st at Archer Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be at Dekle Cemetery, Lake Butler. Eddie’s brother, Arthur Masters will be officiating.
