Edward Bell, age 76, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on January 26, 2023. Born in Jasper, FL, on September 17, 1946, he called Raiford home for the past 10 years. Edward was a carpenter by trade working with various employers over the years. He enjoyed fishing, well drilling, honky-tonkin’, and playing his mouth harp. Edward never met a stranger and loved visiting with anyone, anywhere at any time. His favorite hobby was telling stories and watching the grandbabies sing and dance on the porch. If he had a bottle of 2 dogs (Canadian Hunter) and someone to talk to he was a happy man. Edward is preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Edna Bell; his parents, Clifford and Emma Bell; sisters, Sarah Norman, Betty Mercer, Mary Conger, and Margaret “Toni” Alford; and his brothers, Clifford “Ebo” Bell and Ernest Bell.
Edward is survived by his sons, Edward Bell Jr., Eric (Shannon) Bell, Thomas “T.J.” Bell, and Joseph “Joey” Abraham; his daughter, Alanna (Melton) Griffis; grandchildren, Shyanne, Sierra, and Sadie; brother, Robert “Bobby” Bell; and a host of extended family.
A graveside service to honor Edward will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 3rd at Evergreen Cemetery, Jasper, FL. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:30am at the cemetery.
