Dorothy Ruth Blackston

Dorothy Ruth Blackston, age 63, peacefully passed away at UF Health Shands in Jacksonville on February 14, 2024. She was born in Jacksonville on October 7, 1960, to the late Elmer Glen and Patricia Ruth White Blackston. Dorothy's passion for family was evident in everything she did. She found joy in the simple things - playing cards with loved ones, fishing trips filled with laughter, and walks along the sandy shores of the beach. Her love for classic rock music added a beat to her life that will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

She leaves behind her children: Michael Glen (Jessica) Kelly and Brian Keith Blackston; her grandchildren: Ashley Nicole Kelly, Briana Leann Hinson, Clyde Michael Kelly, and Delanie Marie Kelly; as well as her great-grandchild Anabella Marie Tripp. Dorothy is survived by her beloved sister April Lynn Thompson and was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Patricia Blackston and daughter, Samantha Trish Dyke.

A Graveside Service to honor and remember Dorothy Ruth Blackston will take place on February 27th at Mt. Zion/Swift Creek Cemetery in Lake Butler at 3:00pm. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archer-Milton Funeral Home, Lake Butler. 386-496-2008 www.archerfuneralhome.com
