Darin Austin Strickland

Darin Austin Strickland was a sweet, fun-loving young man who always tried to find the good in everyone. He was a correctional officer at Lawtey Correctional Institute, where his co-workers were more like family to him. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, working on his car, and playing video games. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and everyone enjoyed being around him. He was born September 24, 1999, to Hulon Strickland and Stacy Wilkinson and spent his life as a resident of Lawtey. Sadly, on January 22, 2023, Darin’s life was cut short. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Darin leaves behind to cherish his memories his mother, Stacy Wilkinson of Lawtey; father, Hulon Strickland of Macclenny; brothers, Matthew Wilkinson and Dylan Strickland; a special niece, Madison Wilkinson; his best friend who was more like a brother, Christopher Rosar; special relatives, Rocky Pino, Michael Bowman, and Ray Kingery; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A service to celebrate Darin’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, January 30^th at Archer-Milton Funeral Home, Lake Butler.  The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 11:00am. Darin will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Pine Grove Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery in Raiford. Family friend Donald Norman will officiate the service.
