Clyde Roswell Kelley 

Clyde Roswell Kelley, aged 91 years of Brooker, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2022 at E.T York Care Center in Gainesville, Florida. 

Roswell was born on February 18, 1931, in Brooker, Florida, to the late Clyde Otis Kelley and Doris Sowell Kelley. A graduate of Bradford County High School, Roswell enlisted in the Air Force and honorably served on active duty from 1951 to 1955. He separated from service as a Staff Sergeant and began a career with General Electric in Evendale, Ohio.  

While living in Cincinnati, he met the love of his life, Alma Smith. Both having relocated to the area, they met and bonded at a neighborhood restaurant and married on April 27, 1957. Alma proceeded him in death earlier this year mere days before celebrating what would have been their 65th wedding anniversary. 

Roswell enjoyed sports, particularly football, baseball, and basketball, and family fishing outings. He enjoyed being with his family and siblings out on the water and across the table at a fish fry. 

Roswell is preceded in death by his siblings: Carolyn Dyal and husband Bobby, and Winston Kelley and sister-in-law Edwina Kelley. He is survived by his siblings: Charles Kelley, Lennox Kelley, Jerome Kelley, and Dottie Sue (Terry) Cranford. 

Roswell is survived by his children: Linda (Robert) Phillips, Lisa (Stephen) Peek, Nancy (Garry) Hundley; his grand-children: Kara Eickelman, Derrick Hundley, Kelley Eickelman, Sarah (Paul) Rindfleisch, Kristen Eickelman, Heather Brown, Jared Eickelman, Katie Pagliaro, and Rachel Pagliaro; and five great-grand children: Aurora, Jayden, Luna, Aubrie, and Kinsley.

A viewing will be held on August 27, 2022, at 10 a.m. followed by A celebration of Roswell’s life at 11 a.m. at the Brooker Baptist Church, 17197 Bradford Avenue, Brooker, Florida. His interment will follow at Dedan Cemetery in Brooker, Florida. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archer-Milton Funeral Home, Lake Butler, Florida. In addition to flowers, donations can be made in honor of Roswell’s life to Haven Hospice 4200 NW 90th Boulevard, Gainesville, Florida.
