Charlotte Louise Austin was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of with her vibrant personality and unwavering dedication to her friends and family. She was born on June 11, 1972, in Orlando, FL, and sadly departed from this world unexpectedly on May 9, 2024 in Lake Butler, FL.
Charlotte has been a lifelong resident of Lake Butler and the proud owner of a successful house-cleaning business. Described as feisty, great-hearted, and loyal Charlotte’s presence lit up every room she entered. She considered friends family and loved hard on the people in her life. Her love crafts, cooking, and adventure reflected her joyful spirit and willingness to embrace all that life had to offer. Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Ray and Peggy Stanford Dees.
She is survived by her loving husband of 9 years, Seneca "Buddy" Austin, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Her cherished daughters: Erika Michelle Horton, Ashley Nicole (Richard) Lynch, and Kristen Anne Horton; step-children: Travis (Melissa) Stephens, Seneca Justin (Angie) Austin, and Tammy Shealy (Holland); as well as grandchildren: Hailey, Amber, and Brandon Mullen, Alona Davis, Leah Lynch, Jimarion Simmons, Darrion Simmons, Keaton Horton, Derez Parker, Matt Stephens, and Dylan Stephens. Charlotte is also survived by her sisters: Helen Crews, Victoria Dees, and Stephanie Dees; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A visitation to honor Charlotte's life will take place on May 14, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler. This gathering will be followed by a Celebration of Life ceremony from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. Her final memorialization will be by cremation under the care and direction of Archer-Milton Funeral Home.
