Mr. Charles Lawton (CL) Clyatt, age 81, of Providence, FL passed away at his home on December 5th. He was born on March 25, 1939, in Providence, to William Lawton and Ruby Edenfield Clyatt. Mr. Clyatt grew up in Union County and was a member of the Union County High Class of 1957. He was a talented A/C repairman and electrician and owned Clyatt Service Heat and Air for over 50 years. He loved being outside, working around the house, gardening, his dog Milo, and going to bluegrass festivals. He was an active member at Old Providence Baptist Church and served as a Deacon for many years. Mr. Clyatt is preceded in death by his parents, Lawton and Ruby; his granddaughter, Carolina Rebecca Clyatt Shuler; and his siblings, Mable O’Steen, Jimmy Clyatt and Bobby Clyatt.
Mr. Clyatt leaves behind his loving and faithful wife of 62 ½ years, Nancy Jo Clyatt of Providence; his children, Chuck Clyatt of Providence and Deneen (Delmar) Sweat of Lake Butler; 8 grandchildren, Patrick, Chris, and Kyle Tyre; Candace Clyatt Brannen; Matt King; and Brantley, Zachary, and Delaney Sweat; 20 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A funeral to honor Mr. Clyatt’s life will be held on Thursday, December 10, at 11:00 am at his church, Old Providence Baptist Church. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Archer Funeral Home. His interment will be at Old Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
