Breana Alexis Short

Breana Alexis Short, age 7, of Lake Butler, Florida, passed away at home surrounded by her loving parents on Monday, March 27, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Breana was born July 4, 2009, to Star Howell Knight and Matthew Travis Short. 

Breana was a 2nd grade student at Lake Butler Elementary School.  She loved school and was so proud to be a Tiger.  Breana participated in T-ball and basketball and dreamt of being a dancer when she grew up.  Breana loved her stuffies and making videos demonstrating all of the latest popular toys.  Breana brought passion and excitement to every aspect of her life.  Throughout her illness, Breana faced her diagnosis and treatment with incredible strength, finding joy even in the most difficult moments.  Her love for her family and community was just one of the many characteristics that made Breana so special. 

She is survived by her parents, Star Howell Knight and Matthew Short; grandparents, John Howell, and Leonard and Paula Short; aunts, Moon Wilkerson, Sunny Howell and Sarah Short, and cousins, her puppy Bella, and Bubbles, her precious stuffy.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mary Francis Sutton.
