Mr. Boyd Wayne Chandler, age 70, passed away at UF Health in Gainesville on December 18, 2022. Boyd was born September 28, 1952, to the late Clifford and Ruth Chandler in Luttrell, TN. He moved to Florida in the mid 70’s to be closer to his siblings. In the mid 90’s he moved to Lake Butler and has called it home ever since. Boyd’s passion for tinkering sprouted in his youth. He loved being around people. He loved kids, animals, and if he could ever help anyone, he did. He worked in maintenance and spent his free time watching sports or working with animals. Boyd was a natural with horses and loved sharing that knowledge with his children. Fall was his favorite time of the year because that was when he could cheer on his Tennessee Volunteers! He was a life-long, die-hard, to the core Volunteer. Boyd’s grandchildren were the light in his crystal blue eyes, and his laugh and joy were contagious.
Boyd is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Ruth; his brother, Earl Chandler; and two granddaughters, Olivia and Eva.
Boyd is survived by his children, Stephanie Mulligan of Pennsylvania, Boyd Wayne Chandler, Jr. (P.J.) of Eustis, FL, Dominic Cozart (Elizabeth) of Lakeland, FL, Frances Chandler of Lake Butler, and Brenda Chandler of Little Rock, AR; his sisters, Frances Phipps of Indiantown, FL, Dot Lakins and Rhonda Chandler both of Knoxville, TN; 20 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Boyd’s Life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 21st at Archer-Milton Funeral Home, Lake Butler. In honor of Boyd, the family request Tennessee Volunteer attire or colors be worn.
