Mrs. Barbara Bennett Rumph, age 77, of Lake Butler, Florida passed away peacefully on November 14, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Rumph was born on March 25, 1943 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Warren and Annie Ruth (Tyson) Bennett. She was a 1960 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and a week later, married the love of her life, James Lewis Rumph. In 2005, they moved from Jacksonville Beach to Lake Butler, FL where they enjoyed country living and retirement. She was a loving housewife who had a passion for history, especially Florida history. She was a member of the North Florida Railroad Historical Society where she organized the annual railroad trip on steam engines from Jacksonville to Valdosta. Once she moved to Lake Butler, she became a member of the Union County Historical Society where she served as secretary and treasurer. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Rumph is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Rumph of Lake Butler, FL and her daughter, Laura Rumph of Tallahassee, FL.
A Celebration of Mrs. Rumph’s life will be held at a later date due to covid restrictions. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archer Funeral Home. 386-496-2008. www.archerfuneralhome.com
