Anthony M. Watson, Sr., known to many as "Tony," passed away on April 12, 2024, at the Lake City Medical Center. He was born on February 10, 1966, in Pompano, FL. Tony was a beloved husband, father, son, friend to many. In his professional life, Tony dedicated himself to his work as a supervisor for Lake City CARC. His commitment and hard work left a lasting impact on those around him. Outside of work, he was known for his outgoing and fun-loving personality, always ready to bring a smile to the faces of those he met.
Tony had a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought him joy throughout his life. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, indulged in his love for seafood, enjoyed the thrill of gambling with friends, and loved hustling within his community. Above all else, Tony valued time spent with his family. Tony is preceded in death by his father Stonewall Watson; mother, Christine Love; son, Xavier Watson; and sister, Wanda Watson.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be carried on by his surviving family members. Tony is survived by his wife, Jennifer Overy Watson; children: Anthony Watson Jr., Latavia Watson, Cody (Sarah) Bias, Miranda Martin, Jataz Watson, and Davian Watson; as well as grandchildren: Alexus, Aubrey, Apryl, Julianna, Adrianna, and two more on the way. In addition to his immediate family members, Anthony is also survived by siblings Wallace "WOP" Miller, Michael Love, Brenda Watson, Cierra Dupree, Robert Dupree, Michelle, and Lisa; his in-laws Ronald Overy, Marilyn and Billy Nettles; siblings-in-law Patricia, Ronnie, and Katrina Overy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held on April 26th at Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will take place the following day, April 27th at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Tony will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Dekle Cemetery.
